How much does a psychologist cost in Malaysia?
Fees vary widely between practices in the Klang Valley, and there is no published survey of Malaysian therapy fees to cite — so treat any single quoted range with caution. What we can be precise about is our own, because we publish them: at BeLive in Psychology in Petaling Jaya, a first individual consultation is RM180 (30 minutes) or RM290 (75 minutes), subsequent sessions are RM230, and bundles bring the per-session cost down further. Couples therapy starts at RM475 for the first consultation. Government hospitals and klinik kesihatan are considerably cheaper, with longer waits.
Do you offer session bundles or packages?
Yes — Bundle 1 (5 sessions, RM900) and Bundle 2 (10 sessions, RM1,700) for individual counselling, which save RM250 and RM600 respectively compared with single-session rates.
How much does an ADHD assessment cost in Malaysia?
A structured ADHD assessment is RM1,200 across 2 sessions, including validated instruments and clinical history. An ASD assessment is RM1,700, and a full IQ assessment is RM2,000.
Where are sessions held?
At our centre at M-7-9, Empire City, PJU 8, Damansara Perdana, 47820 Petaling Jaya, Selangor — or online. We are open Monday to Friday 9am-6pm and Saturday 9am-2pm.
Can I pay per session?
Yes. Bundles are optional — you can always pay session by session with no lock-in.
Is there a cheaper option if I can’t afford private fees?
Yes. Government hospitals and klinik kesihatan provide subsidised mental health care at considerably lower cost, and Talian Kasih (15999) and Befrienders (03-7627 2929) are free. Please do not let cost stop you from seeking help.
